This newly developed 8-part practical education course is a fantastic opportunity to study, learn to sing and experience the beauty of Gregorian chant right in Portsmouth City Centre

Suitable for Adults, students and Children (aged 7+). All levels of experience welcome, from complete beginners to those already experienced at singing chant

The workshops give par-ticipants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of chant and experience its beauty, while singing alongside others on the course
We begin on Saturday 19 December 2020 and continue on every third Saturday of the month until 17 July 2021. Each workshop opens at 1130 GMT(BST from 28 March 2021) for arrival & registration

Each day at about 1600 participants collectively sing the chant they have studied in its authentic setting within a service. The day completes at approximately 1730

There is a refreshment break and participants are recommended to bring a packed lunch (tea & coffee is available)
The course is led by the music director of the Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge, Iain Simcock. At different stages, Iain will be joined by guest speakers, including the Benedictine Abbots of Farnborough and Quarr Abbeys
The programme is flexible so individuals can dip into just one or more of the workshops or sign-up for the full course

Join us for the full course in person for maximum benefit or, if too distant from Portsmouth, join on Zoom. Those signed up and attending the full course are awarded a certificate by the Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge
